President/Founder Enterprising Women Foundation
The Enterprising Women Foundation is a sister nonprofit to Enterprising Women magazine and we are so proud to launch a new website to highlight the work of our foundation.
We are creating a new membership opportunity for Enterprising Women Foundation supporters to elevate our scholarship programs and expand the reach of our program. Over the last several years, I have personally witnessed the impact the Young Enterprising Women Mentoring Program has had on high school girls across the United States and Canada. Many young women who have strong math, science or technology skills have no idea of the many opportunities that are available to them. When they attend one of our Mentoring Forum Programs, students learn about career options they never dreamed about and they meet women entrepreneurs from their community who are role models and mentors. We believe you can’t be what you can’t see–so the impact is powerful!
I have watched as this program opened the eyes of these young women and more importantly opened doors for them. Girls who are selected to attend our National Conference in Florida as scholarship recipients gain new found confidence in themselves. Our leadership training and mentoring matching program gives them a chance to meet accomplished women entrepreneurs who are working in their field of interest and it is truly life-changing.
We look forward to using this blog space as a place where young women who have been impacted by this program can share their thoughts and connect with others, and women entrepreneurs who are volunteers in this program can add their perspectives as well. We welcome blog submissions!
